As a local from Montgomery County and a notable graduate of Texas A&M University, Ligon's path in law enforcement and criminal justice has been exceptional.

Starting as a college intern at Brazos County DA’s Office, his commitment to justice grew. Working as a jailer in Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department reinforced his dedication to the community.

With a law degree from South Texas College of Law, he became an Assistant DA in Harris County. Thriving as a prosecutor, he eventually became Chief of the Justice of the Peace Division.

Despite a role as staff counsel for Houston Police Officers’ Union, his passion for public service led him to become Montgomery County's DA in 2008.

Throughout his career, District Attorney Brett Ligon has championed the cause of justice, particularly in combatting child victimization and government corruption.
