Successful prosecution by the District Attorney is making Montgomery County safer for all of us by focusing on our most dangerous offenders and by innovative law enforcement practices.

According to Montgomery County crime intake numbers, violent crimes have dropped significantly in Montgomery County since Ligon implemented these procedures.  This is great news because Montgomery County, which was well below state and national averages for violent crimes, is now significantly safer than three years ago and we are improving even more.  This means safer streets, lakes, and neighborhoods for all of us!

These charts show some of the areas monitored by the office that track the number of cases filed with the office from all law enforcement in the county. The drop in violent crime has been significant with the murder rate dropping by about 80%, the DWI homicide rate dropping about 70%, kidnapping dropping about 60%, and more.
